Mother, mother ocean, I have heard you call. I’ve wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall. You’ve seen it all. You’ve seen it all. —Jimmy Buffett
Yea!!! We have left on our “Journey”. It was a beautiful morning with quite a send off. Patty, Marshall, Pat, Norm and Hershey were up to send us on our way. We have great friends.
Last night we had our second going away party at the marina. The night before we were at Sandy and Scott’s house. Sandy out did herself with wonderful food and drink. Of course, the company had no compare. Last night we met at the pavillion at the marina with hamburgers and hot dogs and all the fixins. The crowd at the marina was fun and we had a ball. Thanks to everyone who participated. We pulled in to Wayfarers Cove around 5:00 pm and will be hauled to check the rudder.
Each day’s beauty, whether calm or unruly, will always be the gift to those who truly see…enjoy. We look forward to your next update….
We also own a Monk 36, The Pearl. We are a few days a head of you…we’ll be at Atlantic Yacht Basin tonight. Good luck on your adventure. We are on our way to New England. We’ll keep an eye out for you.
Not sure if my first comment went through, I’ll try again. We are on The Pearl (Monk 36) just wanted to wish you a good adventure. We are heading to New England this summer. We are a few days ahead of you but we’ll keep an eye out for you. We also have a blog: http://sscruisingadventure.blogspot.com/
What?!? You just got underway and you’re already checking for rudder damage? Remember…red-right-returning UNLESS you’re in the ICW where all markers are backwards…and stay in the center of the ‘ditch’ UNLESS there’s a huge barge coming at you 🙂 Seriously, I wish you only “Fair Winds and Following Seas” throughout your journey.
And, a Great Time was had by all!! We miss you!!!
Happy Sailing!
